The City of Arlington maintains two campgrounds inside the city limits. Both are free for non-electrical spots but if electricity is needed the cost is just $10.00 per night. A drop box is located on site for anyone needing to pay for spots. Most camper pads have a 50 amp hookup option.
Maxwell Park Campground

This campground is convenient to all downtown activities. There are 4 camper pads located in Maxwell Park (1-50 amp pad and 3-30 amp pads). There is also grass area for tent campers at no charge. There is a $10.00/night charge for the electricity and a camper dump station.
Nordland Park Campground
Campground is located on the north side of Lake Arlington on Highways 14 & 81. This campground offers a scenic view of Lake Arlington and Nordland Isle.
Lake Arlington
There are 5 camper pads located at Lake Arlington (3-50 amp pads and 2-30 amp pads). There is also grass area for tent campers at no charge. There is a $10.00/night charge for the electricity.
Lake Poinsett
Located 14 miles northeast of Arlington is the Lake Poinsett Recreation Area State Park. Two campgrounds offer 112 sites with two comfort stations in campground one and an additional comfort station in campground two. A number of sites are along the waterfront. And there are spots for both camper and tents. With numerous amenities in and around the state park it’s a great location to check out for your next vacation.

Lake Thompson
Originally called Dry Woods Lake by American Indians, the lake was renamed for Jacob Thompson, Secretary of the Interior under President James Buchanan. In the 1930s, the lake was completely dry and used for pasture. In the 1980s, the area was a 9,000-acre marsh. Heavy rains and snow melt in the mid-80s filled the lake to over 20 feet deep. The lake is so distinct it was designated as a National Natural Landmark.

Oakwood Lakes
Nestled among eight connecting glacial lakes, this park provides a never-ending variety of activities throughout the year, from hiking and swimming, to ice fishing and cross-country skiing. Shaded campgrounds and picnic areas complement the park's excellent swimming and boating facilities.
